A look back at some of our engaging and hands-on STEM events.

Marshmallow Tower Challenge @ Lakeside Middle School

Students explored fundamental engineering principles, including the center of gravity and the strength of triangular structures. They then applied this knowledge in a fun, hands-on challenge to build the tallest and most stable tower using only marshmallows and toothpicks.

Scribble Bots @ Lakeside Middle School

In this hands-on workshop, 7th grade students built their own scribble bots using simple electronics and creative design. While experimenting with movement, they learned about the engineering concept of offset weight and how it affects vibration and motion. Students worked collaboratively, tested different configurations, and created unique art through their robots’ patterns. This workshop helped introduce real engineering thinking in a fun, accessible, and highly engaging way.
